    My name is Jess Jia. I teach and share Somatic Yoga and Trauma-informed Yoga practices. I am on a lifelong path of learning and leading people to find safety and ease in their bodies through breath, movement, and somatic inquiries.

Rooted in over a decade of study in yoga and psychology across China and globally, my teaching integrates Yoga, somatic movement, and trauma-informed principles. My offering explores how our body holds wisdom, memory, and the innate potential for healing.

Before stepping fully into teaching, I worked as a marketing professional with wellness brands like lululemon and Athletic Greens — experiences that shaped my understanding of authentic storytelling, community, and mindful leadership.


扎根于十多年在中国及全球范围内对瑜伽与心理学的持续学习,我的教学融合了瑜伽、躯体身心动作与创伤知情原则。我的课程与教学致力于探索身体如何承载智慧、记忆,和我们生俱来的疗愈潜能。

在全职投身瑜伽教学之前,我曾在运动健康和生活方式行业从事市场营销工作,与诸如 lululemon 与 Athletic Greens 等品牌合作。这段企业工作的经历让我受益颇深,更丰富了我对真实表达、社区连接与正念领导力的理解。

MY PHILOSOPHY

It took me many years to unlearn what I had been taught in order to truly grow as a yoga practitioner.

In traditional yoga settings, instruction often centers around alignment cues — guiding students toward ideal postures as though our bodies and histories are the same. This approach may uphold authority, but it often silences the inner voices of students and overlooks the lived intelligence of each body.

What fuels my heart is not achieving the next advanced pose, but rather cultivating ease, compassion, and bliss through mindful, embodied actions — both on the yoga mat and in daily life.

My study and teaching are deeply informed by Hatha Yoga, Somatics, body-centered psychology(Hakomi), and trauma therapy.

Currently I offer two core practices: Somatic Yoga and Trauma-Informed Yoga. Each speaks to different needs, but together, they honor the rich interconnection between our physical, emotional, and spiritual selves.

我对瑜伽的思考

成为一名真正成长的瑜伽修行者,对我来说,是一个不断“去学习”过去所学的过程。

在传统的瑜伽课堂中,教学往往过度强调体式的正位和标准化口令,仿佛每个人都拥有相同的身体与经验。这种方式也许赋予了教师“权威感”,却往往剥夺了学生与身体内在经验之间真实的对话。

我之所以热爱瑜伽,并不是为了完成更高难度的体式,而是在练习中与生活里,透过身体的觉知,去体验生命的轻盈、慈悲与喜悦。

我的学习与教学受到多个体系的深刻影响,包括哈他瑜伽、躯体身心学、以身体为中心的心理治疗和创伤疗愈等领域。

目前,我主要教授两个核心方向的课程:躯体瑜伽(Somatic Yoga) 与 创伤知情瑜伽(Trauma-Informed Yoga)。这两种练习虽满足不同的身心需求,但都指向了我们的身体、情绪与灵性之间深刻的连接。
